NHL 09 hockey review

EA sports NHL 09 hockey video game review I expected big things from this hockey game, but I was pleasantly surprised that it even exceeded my expectations.
The Graphics on the game I would rate 9.5 out of 10 as it has realistic player faces and uniforms. The Body checks and goalie saves all look incredibly awesome. The game play I would rate 10 out of 10 as it is plain and simple just a fun game to play once you are familiar with the gaming controls. The shooting is easy to learn and the passing is precise. One timers are still a big part of the game but scoring is also more realistic as a lot of your goals can come from rebounds or tip ins. The defense can be difficult to master but once you have played a while it can be fun to steal the puck for a break away pass or crush your opponent with a huge open ice hit.
There is some fighting in this title but it doesn't happen often and is more just fill in for the main fun of the game which is scoring.
The commentating is both vast and entertaining and I rate it 9 out of 10. There is a ton of commentary on this game both player updates and play by play.The Play by play commentating is usually pretty correct and at times amusing ( if you are winning of course). I have played a lot of previous EA sports hockey games in the past 15 yrs or so and by far I rate NHL 09 hockey as the best hockey video game on the market. I give it a 9.5 out of 10 - two thumbs up!
